Rapid Visual Information Processing

This is a test of ability to sustain attention at fairly high rates of information processing. You see digits one at a time on the screen. The digits appear every 600 msec, that is 100.minute. The task is to respond whenever you see three even digits in a row OR three odd digits in a row.

So in the sequence in the right, you would respond immediately on seeing the six, which is the third in the sequence of even digits 4 -- 2 -- 6

This is a reaction time task, so you should always respond as quickly as possible, while avoiding errors. We record the reaction times averaged over the test, and the total number of correct and incorrect responses.

This test can be run on a tablet computer or a Java-enabled mobile phone (currently only supported on Nokia phones, other versions on request). The test normally lasts about five minutes.
